Mapillary Integrating Drone Imagery

Hello Everyone, this is more of a question for the Mapillary team then the community. I’ve recently come across mapillary and started contributing to the street view imagery. I love this project. Having the backing of a major company like meta to handle data storage is what the OSM project needs to move forward and be the leader. With that being said, is Mapillary exploring the possibility of adding aerial imagery to it’s platform? I know there’s other sites like OpenAerialMap that is but honestly without a major backer or clean interface that’s easy to upload to and integrate with OSM I don’t see it lasting long term. Especially with the quantity of data we’re talking about. It would be great to see Mapillary add an aerial image platform. Make it easier to get higher quality and more up to date imagery into OSM this way. Just wondering!

Hi @xLagonDragonx - this is an interesting idea. We don’t currently have plans for drone/aerial imagery, but it’s something we’ll keep in mind for the future. Thank you for sharing your thoughts!
