iOS 6.2.1 is out

  • Fixed bug where the local sequence preview was using the low res version meant for thumbnails
  • Removed user heading indicator for all maps

Was capturing a bit today using 6.2.1, and ran into some issues - not on the testflight build so just posting them here:

  • the optimising captures splash screen occasionally just hangs. Most often this happened when capturing and then exiting the capture screen. Killing the app and reopening fixes it. Not sure if related to the next item
  • Low memory appears to still a) not present any warning, and b) in some instances crash the app. At one point I couldn’t even get past the loading splash screen, would just crash to springboard. I had about 40mb free

Thanks for the feedback!

  1. Hm that should only ever happen once per user, i.e. when upgrading from an old app (pre 6.2.0) to the new app when old sequences are added to the new database.
  2. I need to look into this again. I have tested it and I get the notification in the camera and capture is stopped.

Which device and iOS version do you have btw?

I’ll look into the optimising splash screen thing first and I will send new builds to Testflight. If I find something that could be causing this, then you can see if that fixes the problems for you, that would be great.

If you need to get unblocked though, you can upload any outstanding sequences you have, delete the app, and install it again.

Sorry, it’s 12 mini, iOS 18.1.1.
On 2, It might be that I missed the warning, because the app crashed - can’t say for sure there wasn’t one as wasn’t always looking at the screen.

On 1, it may have been due to old sequences - not getting this anymore, so may not be an issue

Thanks! It might help with debugging.

  1. Oh so once you uploaded your old sequences, you didn’t see this again? Still, this should only happen once per user. Please let me know if you see this again!
  2. I can see that there are a few crashes when the app tries to save a new photo, but I can’t see the reason. I guess these crashes are yours then. The idea is that a) capture is stopped immediately and b) and alert is shown.

  1. I believe so. Essentially I updated to 6.2.0/1 with some old captures, and then started another capture. As I was running out of space, I decided to upload what was captured already and continue taking new images. The processing screen still showed up after I think the old captures were uploaded (there were few), but I did not get it since uploading all of the captures completed, both old and new. So maybe an edge case
  2. Will report back if I see it again
