Hi there. Our new Open Testing (version 2025.05.12-6.8.28) is out. Thanks everyone for participation (How to join? , Don’t have the app? ).
Notes
We’ve made significant updates to the uploader, so we’d appreciate it if you could let us know if you encounter any issues with uploading: uploading takes too long, missing images/sequences, uploading failed, etc.
Features
You can now request account information directly within the app.
Reset password functionality is available in settings.
Improvements
Uploading speed has increased by up to 20% thanks to parallelization.
Removed sequence lock during uploading for a smoother experience.
Addressed issues
Leaderboard stopped highlighting users after they changed their username.
If you have any questions, or suggestions - please report them here.
Unfortunately, the app crashed during the 1st upload. I will now have to wait and see if all photos are/were processed. As a result, I cannot now determine whether the upload is faster than before.
That’s unfortunate. Depending on your location and analytics collection status, I might search the crash report to identify and address the issue.
If anything is wrong with your sequence, please share it and we will take a look at it.
I see that all my sequences have completed status. The uploads have all gone well. However the app was stuck on the status bar at 32% and was completely frozen. I had to forcefully close the app.
What data do you need to investigate?
Device Samsung A51, Android 13.
@Yaro
Today I uploaded sequences at different times spread throughout the day. These went quickly and all without any problems or crashing of the Mapillary app on my phone.
Thank you for the detailed feedback, @Lowiekse. Let me confirm I’ve got it correct:
You had multiple uploads and multiple sessions, and the app froze once at 32% and also crashed once on a separate occasion. You had other uploading sessions, and they went well. And in the end, there were no missing images or sequences, and everything got processed.
About what data will help me investigate this issue: The device type and Android version should be enough. If the system caught the event, then I will have it.
At this point, because it’s Open Testing, there are not many installs, so it should be easy to find if it’s there.
Thank you for the feedback and for all the details. We reproduced the freeze and already working on a fix. We didn’t reproduce the crash yet, but we still have time
