I think Mapillary should make roads look cleaner and less cluttered by grouping all image sequences from the same road into a single main view.
Instead of showing many overlapping sequences, Mapillary could display one primary road layer, and then allow users to select different capture dates, contributors, or sequences from a timeline/menu.
For example:
Main road view
2023 imagery
2024 imagery
2026 imagery
This would make the map much easier to read, especially in cities where many contributors upload the same roads repeatedly.
Benefits:
Cleaner map visualization
Less overlapping clutter
Easier navigation
Better historical comparison over time
Improved user experience overall
Google Street View already uses a similar timeline-style approach, and I think Mapillary could benefit from something like this as well.
