Why are there still so many contributions with the status ‘Processing’? These are just my contributions from January 2026 to 14 August 2026. I haven’t included the last two weeks of August, as it stands to reason that those still have the status ‘Processing’.
In the year 2025, there are also still many with the status ‘Processing’. However, it’s too much work for me to post all of them here as well.
Thanks @Lowiekse. We are looking at sequences that are stuck in processing, and are trying to find the most common reasons and address those. At the same time, I have created a task to check your sequence separately. Though it will take some time.
PS some part, connected to tiles, will be re-processed already next week (scheduled re-processing).

By that I mean the problem in general, not the specific issues on your list that I’ve mentioned.

I was on vacation for a few weeks and missed many messages; I’m catching up now. The last shared sequence failed processing (multiple times) and was labeled for re-processing. I kicked it manually, so let’s see if it succeeds in a few hours.
We are trying to prevent failures entirely, of course, and @caglarpmeta has made great progress in this direction, but it’s still not 0.

I hope your vacation went great.
I have a bunch of questions about SfM sequence processing to better understand what is going on. I have been poking around for quite some time now to find out what I may or may not do to minimize the chances for sequences to get stuck. 
Maybe I am just confused and oblivious to many things going on on the backend because I cannot make out any clear pattern. 
I wish you guys could give contributors at least some sort of guidance or background info on what the trouble is.
Yeah, my brain was off (more often than I care to admit). I went to Normandy and that’s a beautiful place, with soul-crushing rain from time to time. Thanks!

There were lots of recent fixes to reduce the rate of clusters getting stuck in different processing stages. We also re-ran most stuck clusters to get them to completion. Funny enough, most of them were actually processed but with their status not updated.
What I can confirm is that the length of an upload correlates with the probability of getting stuck. The longer the sequence, the higher the probability… With the latest changes, the completion rate of longer clusters are significantly improved.
Of course, we cannot guarantee that no uploads will ever get stuck again, however the probability is now greatly reduced.
