Panorama 360 lost in close zoom in Map

Hi Mapillary PM and engineer,

I see some problems when zoom in and browse for Panorama images/track.

At high zoom, I still see 360 track.

When close zoom, the 360 tracks are lost a lot.

Here is the youtube link.

Location in Hanoi, Vietnam: Mapillary

Location in Ho Chi Minh city, Vietnam: Mapillary

Hope you guys could help me on this. Thank you so much.

@nikola do you know what’s happening here? Zooming in on the same area without the 360 filter seems to work fine.

The density of the images in that area is an issue due to the vector tile limits. The 360 imagery in that area is older than the other imagery so it’s not included in the image tiles as we prioritize newer imagery when adding data to the tiles.

I understand. But we really need to see the 360/panorama images only when in a close zoom of a map / area. because smartphone image is just 150 degree. I really need your help.
At the moment zoom 16 is not having any 360 degree any more in the city center.

So you say that basically when certain density is reached, the oldest sequences get deleted?
And what about when filtering by the date to lower the number of showed sequences?
Thats kind of important info, as lot of users value the possibility to compare recent foto with the oldest imagery from the beginnings of mapillary…

The sequences are not deleted, but they aren’t shown on the map tiles. We’re working on fixing this situation for the future, as we agree, this isn’t desirable.

Also this kind of weird missing 360 track when viewing at close zoom in OpenStreetMap Editor too.

Yes, I think this is the same issue, is that correct @nikola ?

Yes, it’s the same issue as in some of the other areas with very dense coverage.
