Is it just me, or does the uploader installation (specifically the executable) get deleted on reboot? I had to reinstall twice now. All the logs and caches seem intact, and there is a cached update installer, but not the actual executable in AppData/Common/Programs
Hey @Magnet do you get a sample video for sharing us to reproduce this issue? I wonder if itâs related to the GPS sample rate.
The last Desktop Uploader 4.7.2 update caused uploads on my Linux computer to crash frequently. At first, I thought it was due to the 10-year-old Pentium processorsâ two-core configuration. But that was a mistake. As a test, I doubled the memory to 16.7 GB by adding a second memory stick. This reduced processor usage from 80% to 5%. And crashing uploads are now a thing of the past. Give the Desktop Uploader enough hardware PC memory, and youâll be happy.
If you use video the stops will not be uploaded, only movement over 3 meters.
I dont want to use video. Especially when traveling slow on the bicycle. Takes tons of memory for nothing, as 1-2 fps is enough frequency when traveling 10-20kmph.
Thanks for reporting! Looks like the underlying issue is âMax retries exceeded withâ but it wasnât caught with our error handling. @tao Weâll look into it!
