Mapillary compliant with tablets?

Looking at this capture:

It says the device was a Honor HEY-W09, which seems to be an HONOR Pad 8.

Someone I know had one of these tablets, and at some point I ended up wondering:
Can you actually map with this thing?

And somehow… yes.
You can apparently map with a 12-inch tablet. Not saying it’s practical, pretty, or a brilliant life choice, but it does work.

I didn’t root it or do anything crazy. I just managed to get Mapillary running on it.

Since there’s basically no tutorial for this, here’s the cursed method:

  1. Pick your unsupported device.
  2. Try installing Mapillary from the Google Play Store.
  3. If that doesn’t work, well… unsupported means unsupported.
  4. Open Chrome, Firefox, Brave, or whatever browser you use.
  5. Go to Aptoide.
I’m not guaranteeing anything here, whether it works, whether it’s outdated, or whether it tries to explode your dignity. It worked for me.
  6. Search for Mapillary.
  7. Check that you’re still on aptoide.com.
  8. Download it through the launcher/store thing.
  9. Install it.
  10. And that’s basically it. If everything goes well, you might actually be able to map with your unsupported device.

So yes, if anyone was wondering… BY (loop)
