Interior photos?

Can Mapillary’s automatic system remove inappropriate photos (indoors) on its own, or do users have to report them individually?
I’ve noticed that ThailandCambodia adds a lot of photos of the interiors.

Right now we do not have automatic classification between indoor and outdoor imagery - but we will make it less prominent in upcoming releases. For now you can report individually. Thank you for the feature suggestion!

I have reported quite a bunch of indoor and selfie images lately but they do not get removed. :person_shrugging:
Furthermore, some thrill seekers continue to upload illegally captured images, like on private property, from rooftops, and indoor abandoned buildings. None of these have been removed.

Mapillary has tried it before. With human intervention, I think and they deleted one of my drinking water fountains.

I like views from rooftops.

And finding my way in an Ikea store.

And to see how a church is inside.

And, I would like to speed on public roads and punch people in the face that make me angry but I do not do it because of rules and respect for others.

All the things you mention are not covered—maybe even excluded—by Mapillary Terms of Use for good reasons. Mapillary Help is also quite clear on:

Technically speaking, there are legal risks and liabilities to consider and to avoid. Morally speaking, we should have respect for others. Philosophically speaking, we should follow rules so that society can work flawlessly. Nothing happens in a vacuum. And, nobody lives for and on their own.

I would feel an idiot sticking only to the streets.

The crippled want to see something more than streets.

I see it as the canonic law, they say themselves that they are there just as guidelines to help us.

Mapillary is not for indoor use, it’s for outdoor (streets). Indoor images can be used in Google Maps for example, but not for Mapillary.

I understand it is not ment for pamper collections.

I might have a look at Panoramax if legalists get the upperhand.

Right, and they have limits too. Google Map’s community guidelines say that they generally do not accept indoor imagery either, except from establishment owners or proprietors in this case. The only exception to this exception are sole dish or menu captures.

Let me share an interesting example.
In my city, there is a public park that is owned by a regional government authority and operated by a fully government owned private company. The park is open to the public. Admittance is free of charge. Everybody can go and stay there, take pictures, and basically do everything that you can do in a public space. But, the park also has special fenced‑off outdoor attractions, like thematic gardens, extensive playgrounds, climbing facilities, and more. Everybody is also free to enter and experience these attractions free of charge. However, all these special outdoor attractions have separate house rules. One house rule says that it is forbidden to take pictures for commercial purposes, unless you have written permission from the park operator. So, imagine what would happen if I would go there, capture such an attraction on the inside, and publish my captures on Mapillary? I would make myself and Mapillary liable to legal claims. Why? Because Mapillary is a commercial business. It does not matter that I would make no profit off my captures. Moreover, I would potentially also cause commercial damage to the park operator because these attractions are what the park operator company markets to the public to give people an incentive to visit the park. So, as you can see, you can get into trouble really quickly when publishing imagery you do not have full rights to or that is not free of third party rights. Be careful about what you publish. Always follow local rules and regulations (and Mapillary ToU).

I even have fake pictures.

As long as people have a good time watching my pictures.
