Horrible image quality (extreme low jpg qual?)

Something’s clearly not good here. Phone (Samsung S7) has a terrific cam, Mapillary is not set to low res, and I tried even hires and the result seem to be the same.

All the images are horrific. Look at it: Lsy9JndOLSygAh8DE_HKCw

Ideas how to unscrew it?

you uploaded a thumb ?
Do you use the mapillary app and upload via mapillary app?
Enable show detailes stats in teh developer settings and see in which resolution you do the pictures

Doesn’t seem to, except if “4032, 2268” signifies the resolution (in an ass-backwards format). But if you download the original image you’ll see that the resolution is high but the look is extreme.

  Geometry: 4032x2268+0+0
  Resolution: 72x72
  Compression: JPEG
  Quality: 90

So the file believes itself to have Quality 90 and indeed what I see is not a typical JPEG artifact, but the image is visibly compressed [or just distorted] somehow. It looks more like some weird sharpness or countour enhancement filter.

This issue is the subject of https://github.com/mapillary/mapillary_issues/issues/1931 . You should make a comment there.

I’m having the same problem: http://forum.mapillary.io/t/galaxy-s7-horrible-quality/1018

No idea why the issue in the bug tracker has been closed.

probably because it is a known issue with S7, and a known solution is to set the app to Cam API ‘old’ instead of API 2

That’s not a solution, that is a work-around. A solution is if the app handles the problem without user intervention.

a blacklist feature is in the works, as far as I know.

I got some trouble with a sequence. The image quality is horrible.
It is possible to delete all the sequence?

Starting at this Point: https://www.mapillary.com/app/?lat=48.69350514129155&lng=9.144971893933416&z=15.986646400248762&focus=photo&menu=true&pKey=fCNOMYPdcSb4y8GTv7-d9A

I done something wrong ,was my mobile phone the problem or upload by unstable WIFI?

Answer can given in english spanish or german
