And what OS are you running? 64 or 32 bit.
I assume the patch status is up to date and there are no unusual errors in the event viewer system log?
I dont have Windows so cant test.

All understood. I got the same fault trying to install on a W7 32 bit PC. Any chance that it may be time to upgrade? It’s also possible to make it dual boot with (say) a Debian Linux distro. (zero money involved)

Just a tip. In my experience (assuming you have a legal W7 key!) This works to upgrade to Windows 10:
- Write down/obtain your legal Windows 7 key
(there is software to extract your key from your installed Windows 7 by the way) - Download the Windows 10 Home installer
(USB installer is easiest usually) - upgrade your Windows 7 or do a clean install
Most often it will ask for a key right at the start, enter the Windows 7 key and it’ll work! (if not, you only lost a bit of time trying 
Sometimes (even though the upgrade period has ended) you can install without entering the key (happend recently!)
