Access to the pictures you have taken with the app

In the past (may have been 10 years ago) you could set in the app whether you wanted to take pictures or videos, where the pictures were saved and could then use them. I primarily use mapillary to improve OSM and when I’m done, the images are uploaded to the server. This has not been possible with the Mapillary app for a long time. I used the Kartaview app instead, which at least gave me easy access to the photos. Unfortunately, this no longer works with my latest smartphone, it now automatically makes videos that I can’t do anything with or that I would have to convert first.
Has anyone found a way to do this? Are there the old mapillary apps somewhere where you could still select this?

Update to the latest Mapillary Android app version then see

Alternatively, you can use

Where is the setting for shared storage?

@wegavision - it is on by default so you shouldn’t need to change anything, but you can find it in the “Capture” section of Mapillary Android app settings - you can get there by tapping on your username in the top left, and then the settings cog in the top right.

The photos you take will be visible in Google Photos under “Collections” → “On this device” - note that you can copy the photos or do anything you want with them until they are uploaded. Once uploaded Mapillary will delete the images in the Mapillary folders to save space.
