It seems the iOS app has to be put in foreground to do any time-consuming tasks, like Adding EXIFs and uploading images.
Why is this still the case in this day and age?
Adding EXIF alone could take around 15-20 mins for the sequences I’ve capture, not to mention uploading images.
I’ve stopped uploading images direct from the phone for this very reason, and now transfers the images to my laptop for uploading later, but even then I have to leave the app running while it adds EXIFs before I can use the phone for other things.
