How does the Mapillary server handle perfect duplicate images

More a question of interest, but I am toying with the idea or re-uploading some 2016-2017 imagery with a more relaxed sequence break distance. As it stands I see many individual one image sequences that are only visible as dots on the GUI. It might be nice to have then line joined as they are not easily visible without them.

So the question is does the server care at all if the exact same image is uploaded. Like does the new upload fail, replace or duplicate.

I’d be using the CLI tools for this and setting times/distance manually.

I don’t know of any duplicate checks. I saw some users uploading duplicate sequences or duplicates within sequences, and I accidentally uploaded some duplicates, and deleted them

@bob3bob3 - images will be duplicated on mapillary. Generally we do not recommend re-uploading captures (unless you delete the old ones).
