Hi, Just wanted to report that the GKU D900 isn’t compatible with the Mapillary Uploader as it doesn’t include a GPX inside (nor in any other file or seperate .gpx) here’s a quick screenshot and a video
Thank for the tip. Would you mind providing a link to the original .mp4 or .mov file (unprocessed, direct from the camera) on something like Google Drive so we can take a look at the metadata in the file?
Probably the easiest way would be to extract the .gpx using exiftool and then edit the video to remove the audio track with something like lossless cut. I’m not sure what the use case for that would be though, Mapillary doesn’t do anything with audio.
Hi Boris, by experimenting with chatGPT, Found out that my file has no gps/gpx data and/or the gps data is blocked, I will try now to mute the video (22:48), here you go the .txt with metadata (from ffmpeg) and the video, is loading (22:54) mapillary-gku-dashcam - Google Drive
The dashcam program has the “gps visualizer” that unlocks when you pay, I personally don’t wanna pay for a software that will let me see the gps (link of the program: DVPlayer ) if anyone wants to pay and see for a dashcam video (that I refunded to amazon) I will be shocked (or if someone can grab any metadata), video loaded! (22:57)
Thank you. Are the links you shared the original unprocessed files directly from the dashcam? I’m looking for the originals (without any modifications by you)
Hi @boris, The video is not touched by me, I only muted the video by using (i don’t remember help) i think ffmpeg, From the CMD I “said” to ffmpeg to not touch anything… so… that’s there.
p.s: looking in the file folder, nothing found, not even a single .gpx test file
Hi @notmyproblem1 - in order to look at the compatibility we need the original video file directly from the dashcam - no modification by you of any kind (so no ffmpeg manimulation, nothing at all). Once you have the original video file, could you share it in a Google Drive for us to take a look? Thanks!
Hello @boris can I send to you in private the link? You can also share to the Mapillary team or Meta, I dont wanna people hear what I say in the video (nothing offensive, just me breathing)
Good news, exiftool will now support and extract GPS data from this video in the latest version. We will incorporate this into the next version of the Mapillary desktop uploader. For now, you could continue recording with this camera and upload later when we add support (we release about once a month).
Or, if you’d like to upload now, you can use exiftool directly and then add the .gpx file it creates in the Mapillary Desktop Uploader manually.
