First of all I absolutely HATE that Mapillary app selects 0.6x camera by default every time you start the app. I see no point in using this camera as in 1/3 of image it shows the bonnet. Why last camera choice is not remembered?
Today I was capturing some photos, the app crashed (probably was killed by Android due to heat). I quickly restarted it, hit the capture and continued my ride. I have not noticed that it switched to 0.6x camera.
What is worse is that ALL of them are completely out of focus:
Yes, this looks like a bug, we should be remembering your camera zoom setting. @Yaro let’s get this resolved in the next release. The blurry photos are yes, likely a bad tuning of the “set AF to infinite above 15 kmph” setting. Did it resolve itself after you toggled that off and then back on?
I was looking at this issue exactly today. At the moment there are multiple concurrent ideas, all of them connected to the device specifics. I would say the most probable is the connection of our focus and wide-lens on this device. I will try to find a device to test everything (I have one plus but of a different version). At the same time, @IreuN, if you happen to have a chance to verify that you have exactly the same focusing problems during the “infinite focus option ticked ON” when the camera is at 1.0, that might bring some light.
PS: Regarding “remembering your camera zoom setting,” it is already included in the next release code.
