Hi, people. Does anyone have any experience with the Delkin DDMNT Triple Fat Gecko suction cup mount, or something similar? Have you ever had it come unstuck while driving? How fast have you driven with it in your roof? And, side note, is it tall enough on its own to avoid the car filling too much of the frame?
I see that it’s Mapillary’s recommended mount for the GoPro Max 2, and that it’s designed to withstand speeds of at least 150mph. But I’d appreciate any firsthand experience anyone can share, hopefully for a bit of reassurance, before I use it myself.
I know its recommended to use that one, but I couldn’t pay all that so I got a cheaper one. I use the GoPro single suction mount and use the components it came with to raise it up just a little.
Example of using it:

That’s helpful. Thank you! Any chance you could tell me exactly how far that puts your camera from your roof? I have a small car with a rounded roof, so I expect I’d have slightly better visibility if I used the same setup.

It puts it up around 6-8 inches. Its not much but for my area of capture, any higher and I would be hitting tree branches.
