I bought an ELM 327 OBD2 to use with OpenStreetView. I also bought the “Torque” app. But there are no tunnels in my city yet ready to drive in, so the first test will have to wait to saturday (in the dark).
I was googling if the Android operating system or the Google location could use the wheel data. “No”, it seems to me.
But then i discovered Android Auto. Can any of you allready use Mapillary in tunnels when that app is loaded ?
I have not met anyone with a new car yet, but I think the app does not allow other apps, which is the purpose of this app. Maybe in dev mode ?
I don’t know the reason, but for the first time in Android Auto, in Osmand, I can see my current track and the Mapillary coverage.
Nice, looks great.
I"m not sure what diff Android Auto makes. My understanding is that it’s simply an interface, so to speak, for your phone and car. Just helps you do things like use google maps on your phone and have it displayed + interact with your car’s touch screen.
