Wrong position of images after Mapillary calculation

Hello everyone,

I’m reviving the topic.

I acquired 360° images over an entire municipality, all our images had a precise position, with an RTK GPS and an adjustment of the trajectories with mobile mapping software.

After importing Mapillary my positions have completely moved, so they are no longer correct.

You can see the image.

I have already done this for 2 municipalities in 2021 and 2023 and I did not have this problem.

Is there a way to correct this? Because this acquisition is for the municipality and there must be no deviation.

Thank you for your help

Guillaume

That’s a little strange. I’m also using RTK. On the following picture, blue dots are well positioned. In opposite, the orange dot corresponds to the Mapillary calculated position and is completely off road.

This appears to be an issue with the Rapid editor showing the calculated positions instead of the reported positions (with no way to change this).

Compare real values in regular iD editor:

id no off

With whatever Mapillary calculated as seen in Rapid editor:

rapid off

I have no idea why Rapid devs would choose to show these. Honestly, this seems like a horrible decision given how bad some of Mapillary’s estimates are. It makes it completely unusable is certain locations.
