Precise and reliable positioning through support for all GNSS signals, including GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, QZSS, IRNSS and BeiDou in conjunction with reference stations would be much more precise. These surveying devices are usually Bluetooth-enabled, so there is actually nothing to stop them.
The new GoPro 360 MAX is due to be released at the end of the year, but other manufacturers are also in demand. Positioning could be significantly improved.
Are there any listeners from Mapillary here who can influence the manufacturers to make their products more open on this point?

In terms of your question, the Mapillary Desktop Uploader and mapillary_tools both support the addition of .gpx files. So basically if you are recording a video you can then attach a .gpx file generated by your external GNSS device for more accurate positioning. Give it a go!

Das bedeutet aber doppelte Datenhaltung und genaues arbeiten, damit auch die richtigen Daten zusammenkommen. Daher wäre es von Vorteil, wenn die Fotos und Videos gleich bei der Entstehung die genaueren Koordinaten übergeben werden könnte - zumindst eine Option wäre schön. Aber danke für den Hinweis. Ich werde es einmal testen.

But that means storing data twice and working carefully to ensure that the correct data is collected. It would therefore be an advantage if the photos and videos could be given more precise coordinates as soon as they are taken - at least an option would be nice. But thanks for the tip. I’ll test it out.
Hi @weseraue2022 , unfortunately this option is available for videos only. For photos we do provide a way for you to move the photo in the desktop uploader manually to the right location, but at scale you would have to run a script to modify the exif data with the more precise lat/long.
Agreed that it would be nice if camera manufacturers had better support for external GNSS units, but I think that is not particularly likely given the small user-base overlap.
