Clear your calendar - all roads lead to Manila this October, for the second State of the Map Asia conference. SotM Asia kicks off on 1st October, and you’re invited to take part in two, full days of OpenStreetMap-related presentations, technical workshops, learning sessions, software demonstrations, and numerous interaction opportunities between contributors, communities, and institutional supporters of OpenStreetMap (OSM) with the rest of Asia, and the world.
SotM Asia will also host the third VISIONS Asia Resilience Forum which aims to bring together representatives from ICT communities, private and public sector to discuss experiences and best practices on developing civic apps for community-based disaster resilience in the Asian region.
Proposals for presentations related to OpenStreetMap, Resilience, and Free and Open Software is open. State of the Country Map talks from the rest of the Asian region is welcome and highly encouraged. We also look forward to hear from Mapillary users in the region who are interested in participating.
The conference is free but slots are limited and therefore RSVPs are necessary. Kindly check out our website, for more information, and registration details: http://stateofthemap.asia/
The activity is happening right after the 7th International Conference of Crisis Mappers (ICCM) in Manila , and perhaps you might want to extend your stay in Manila if you’re taking part in the ICCM conference so you can join us, too.
I’m Erwin, advocate of the OpenStreetMap platform in the Philippines, and one of the volunteer organizers for this event. We look forward to meeting you in Manila this October.
