Hi! Are there attempts to make DIY 360 cameras? I stumbled upon this project on GitHub: GitHub - felixtsao/oneVR_devel: Low-cost DIY 360 camera video capture and stitching. However, this project is 7 years old. I was wondering if there are some similar or adjacent projects that go beyond this in terms of higher resolution capture?

I don’t have any specific links but there are quite a few people who have created 360 cameras using a Raspberry Pi and 4+ cameras. You need a special adapter to use multiple cameras, Arducam sell kits that have 4 cameras and a multiplexer. If you want to use it with mapillary you would have to add a GPS adapter to the Pi.
The stitching might place quite a load on the pi and it probably wouldn’t be able to do it in real time, you would have to do it later or on another computer.
