Hey there! So I am a student, but I really like OSM and Mapillary. Now I want to create better images with a 360 cam, but I dont know what to buy. It would be cool if I can mount it onto a bike and it should cost less than 300 euros. Any recommendations? Bye, Pingu! ---

I would recommend the GoPro Max because… well it just works! Trying out other 360 cameras is kind of a huge gamble on if they will end up gathering gps correctly or having good software. From my experience, you should avoid insta360 since they barely worked with mapillary at all. ---

I would maybe look at a used GoPro Max on ebay/facebook marketplace etc - you should be able to pick one up under 300 there. ---

Hi, I’m planning to buy a 360 camera, and I see that the GoPro Max is still the suggested one. Anyway, in the GoPro website I doesn’t see it anymore available for buying: is it out of market? Among the new ones, is there a good substitute for Mapillary, or should I look for used ones? ---

I suggest you seriously consider the new Kandao QooCam 3 Ultra camera. Which 360° camera, apart from the GoPro Max, works with Mapillary out of the box? I just want to film, drag files into the desktop uploader, upload, done. ---

Any that can stitch in the camera and append coords into exif. Potentially the Qoocam in some modes (if stitching in cam is possible), maybe some Insta360 with a GPS remote ---

I saw some folks mention overheating and short battery life—I ran into that too on longer sessions. One thing that helped me was switching to lower resolution settings when I didn’t need super detailed shots. Also, there’s a solid article on [wired.com](https://www.wired.com/review/insta360-x5-360-camera/) comparing a few models side by side, and it gave me a good sense of what tradeoffs come with each, especially around image stitching and stabilization.
