# Low compass accuracy - extract direction from GPS movement?

I’m having a lot of problems with a compass in my smartphone. I think it’s some interference with some of my bike equipment. Due to that fact the compass data is consistently unreliable.
Is there a way to disable the compass and have Mapillary Android app just assume the photo’s orientation from gps position changes, assuming it’s constatly facing to the front of the movement?

Hi there, there isn’t a current way of doing this, but its a good feature request. In theory we should be able to detect this using structure from motion, but that is a bit broken currently. Let me chat with the eng team and see if we can add this to the backlog.
