Heya, just a quick info on the latest iOS app - not sure whether I have a broken copy or this is a more widespread problem. a) No way to switch to manual mode - took some photos of a memorial, and hitting the auto-button to start-stop while keeping the phone steady so it doesn’t start taking extra photos is… terrible. b) All images done in the way in a) are placed as individual sequences, making local saving a huge pain to perform. c) With the automatic mode only, it is also very hard to figure out whether an image was actually taken. Is this something wrong with my copy, or is the app broken in general currently? ---

Heya, anybody from Mapillary with an insight on how this could be fixed? I’m suggesting that some people take storefront and other photos so those things can be mapped, but the current broken interface will leave a really bad first impression. ---

It takes a lot to make me not take Mapillary images, these app changes succeeded at reducing app usage significantly. ---

Hi Rich, for me long-tap on the app-icon from the iOS homescreen works. Then a context menu appears there where you can switch manual/automatic mode. (This post applies for \* App version: 5.8.0.230511 \* IOS: 16.5 \* Model: iPhone 11) Anyway strange position for this switch, and also hard to find. Yours, AJF ---

That is insanely hidden - and unfortunately, it doesn’t work… Edit: to clarify, I do see manual/automatic modes there, just that the manual mode does not do anything. ---

The shortcut was always there, but it shouldn’t be available now, I thought I removed it… Either way, auto+manual mode is coming back in the next version! ---

Thank you so much for the reply and all the help, Anders. The changed app ended up not matching my usage patterns (and not resolving the existing usability concerns I had), thus I stopped using it and recommending it at events.
