# How to explain what you're doing to passers-by?

hey, i just found this;

One time my brother was in a italian park (always the italians!!! xD) with **my** insta360 x4 and he was mapping, One old man asked “You got connections?” (“Sei raccomandato?”) my brother asked him to repeat cuz he was sweating in f----ing summer prolly was 39°C (102,°F) and he said twice, my brother panicked and said “No, it’s a project for school” (why would you panick dude?) and he walked off, that’s it.

When they “caught” me working with 2 phones (SCEE [StreetComplete] n’ Mapillary) they told me “what’s that? google?” I said “no” and explained what do you do with mapillary etc. since they asked only about mapillary I explained only mapillary and not OSM

Makes easy (and a loss for mapillary tho) to use just a direct app that doesn’t make photos, it’s a loss for mapillary and I’m not promoting it (don’t ban me thanks)

My brothers walks more fastly when he has the 360°, in case you enter a bar go pick a water, goes inside you make a lap and just go away, or if he’s nearby my shop he just runs into my shop and he stops the recording

sometimes when I’m being stopped (I) with the 360° when I go on my bike they tell me “what is this? YouTube?” and I stop and tell them about Mapillary that is like Google Str.Vie. and I also upload to Google eventually, what’s the top question? “Do you get paid do to this for Google? (dude I said Mapillary first…)” and I have to reply “no, not really it’s a free contribution that I do, I provide fresh images to both platforms, Mapillary is not _yap yap yap yap a lot of yap that I don’t wanna write_”
